anyone got a standard ariel they dont want as mines has been bent??

Usual responses will point towards breakers jard, or Adam (JapGT300), for replacement parts.

Or more specifically in the case of the stock aerial, quite a few people might have one lieing about if they have replaced it with the short antenna, because they are of the opinion that the stock aerial gives the car the look of a remote-controlled car when up!

If you are of the same opinion, the short antenna is available at the mo over on spyderchat, costs about £70 to get the antenna and conversion kit shipped over. Conversion looks a bit of a fiddle!

you can buy just the mast part of the ariel for £30 from MrT if that is any help

A guy named Lord Takuban over on Spyderchat sells them, though he doesn't have any at the moment.

I think it looks a lot better.  I couldn't stand that giant whippy aerial, especially since it has to be up any time I had the stereo on, whether listening to radio or not.  Reception is slightly degraded with the new antenna, but I only ever listen to the news on the radio anyway.

i fitted a switch to the remote aerial, so i can choose

that said I would like one of these.

Some sports cars have 2, 1 fitted either side, my transmition principles education tells me this would be better because they can remove more of the rubbish, by comparing themselfs.

I wonder has anyone done this ?

I was going to fit a switch but haven't found a switch I liked yet! If I had fitted one already I wouldn't have destroyed it driving through a fallen tree, as luck would have it I haven't done any other damage to the car, just the aerial.

they are not difficult

First off you need to remove the wheel then the plastic liner to the wheel arch. Then undo the bolt that secures the ariel in place and unscrew the silver part of the ariel on the top of the wing and the ariel will come out.

Unscrew the gold screws on the ariel unit and remove the cover

Pull the old mast out and refit the new one

Refitting is the reverse of removal as they say
