OK, i know this sounds like a noob question or infers ive not scoured the forum for answer but i must have blind goggles on or something, i cant find the answer....please dont laugh , or do, i know you will but, how do i change a headlight bulb? what do i need to remove for access. i know its probably a 2 min job and patently obvious but im having real brain fog issues right now.

Is it a facelift (2003-) or pre facelift model (- 2003)?
If you are unsure; does it have fog lights or not.

In neither case it is 2 minutes as you need to take the vanity plastic out.

Via "search " I found a similar question that was asked a  while ago with various responses, you will see that
@2 of the left provided some definitive answers.
I have read elsewhere that it is challenging, and also worth a £5 in entertainment to get Halfords to do it.

Use a small mirror to see how the spring clip engages.  They can be sore on the thumbs. The MR2 isn't too bad, I've had worse.

My usual response is along the lines of;
You need a bulb, patience, a flashlight, alcohol to drink, alcohol to disinfect wounds, drugs to numb your soul, drugs to ease pain. But mostly patience and/or luck.

Front plastics out, undo wire clip to appropriate bulb, remove the rubber cap, undo the clip, remove bulb and adapter. Remove adapter from old bulb and place on new bulb.
Put new bulb in place. So far you should be about 10 mins in.

Spend next 45 mins trying to get the clip back on by feeling.
After this time you will be glad for the alcohol and drugs.

Oh and take care when fitting the new bulb in:
Because the angle is a bit awkward you cán angle the thing a bit too much and drop it in the lamp unit. Í did   
Not a nice feeling when that happens.
Had to fish it out using a wire with a bent tip.
Nice feeling when thát happens 

I put in higher wattage; is brighter. 
To reduce the heat a bit, left off the rubber covers; is lighter

Main bulbs are as above depending on how lucky you are that day.  For me, it's the sidelight bulbs that are the worst (on a PFL).  A bumper off job that gets left until just before MOT time.

That's not what I want to hear after the MOT man suggested my sidelights were a bit dim doing the MOT last month "a sign the bulbs are about to go" thought it would be simple...
