I've been prepping and painting my rear bumper over the last few weeks and thought I'd share my progress with you all.

Well first off I wanted to make good where I'd roughly cut my rear skirt to accommodate my Cobra Quads
I used a piece of aluminium mesh held in place with some P40 filler and then used fibre glass to line itI then blocked it roughly flat and then used filler to get it perfectly flatI did the same for the other sideI then touched up with fine filler any other areas that needed doing on the rest of the bumper and used red plastic primer. This was then wet sanded all over ready for paint
I then decided to paint it in two sections as I wanted to preserve the plastic trim which is between the rear skirt and the bumper and as I didn't have thin enough fine line masking tape; two sections it had to be.
Considering the time of year; I did well to get this looking as good as it does
Then today I sprayed the top half. This proved quite problematic as I had a slight silicone issue; even though I degreased it twice [emoji34]

I even took it into my garage to bake it to help with the curing as it was so cold
So all in all not a bad result. I will have to do some colour sanding to get rid of some of the bits of debris that has blown into the clear and then it should look great. Funnily enough I spent a lot of time and effort to make good the rough cut openings but when it's on the car you can't even see them...but it's been good fun and it's another panel complete [emoji1360]

I've got a front and rear jdl bumper to work on...probably next year.

As well as lots of other bits that need spraying. Including my bonnet :/.

I'm looking to do all of the offside panels as well as the bonnet...it's actually exciting to decide what to do next...the bonnet doesn't really need doing yet but as it's a major panel I'll definitely be doing it at some point

I wish a had you patience.
Well done.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

MAF-What a difference a spray makes!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent work as usual.

Perhaps you need to put some vents in your bonnet, then you would need to paint it!
