mp3 player via cassette, adapter

am i right in thinking you can connect a mp3 player to one of these cassette adapter things, that were around in the 90's to use your portable cd player in the car, anyone tried???

Yeah I can't see why not, it just used the headphone socket out lead.

I understand they are not bad, bit messy with the wire.

Most new head units come with Phono's in at the back, my sony called it AUX, with all these add ons now, the Car Stereos are acting more like home amps with all the inputs.

But going back to your question, I'm sure it would work perfectly well, I'm sure you can still buy them today from Goodmans and I'm sure Argos must have one, they seem to do everything !

Yep, done it myself. Admittedly, it was only a 1Gb flash player, so I have no idea what it would be like with more fancier stuff like iPod, Creative or the new Sony thing. I know that I can't connect my new Sony Walkman (which EVERYONE should own by the way. SOOOOOOO much better than an iPod!), but if I am crafty, I can just plainly connect it through the earphone socket. Seems to work fine, if a little "hissy"...............

I use the belkin adapter with my ipod and the quality is fine ...
the belkin tape adapter was not cheap (in comparison to others) but first off i bought a cheap one for about a tenner .. it was bloody useless took it stright back to dixons ... you get what you pay for with these !

My stereo accepts a sd card.

So i dont use cds or tapes anymore just a 1gb sd car for about 36 quid.   s:) s:)

My HU uses SD and USB so i'v got a 1gb mp3 player, no more skipping for me   s8) s8)
