COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WOT SWITCH WITH RED LIGHT ON MR-S JAP IMPORT FOR? ITS LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE SWITCH LOCK & UNLOCK SWITCH FOR THE DOORS & I AINT GOT A CLUE WHATS IT FOR

HA HA ! MY INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS IN JAPANESE SO I AM A BIT STUCK ON FIGURING OUT WHATS IT FOR. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP WITHOUT THE SARCISM & HUMOR. ITS JUST A BLACK BUTTON WITH A RED LIGHT & I AINT GOT A CLUE WHAT IS IT FOR (LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON BY THE DASHBOARD)

And, on a UK car the light is just the alarm indicator, but it is on the left of the wheel.
Ex Astral Black, 05 MR2 (Ah, open top motoring)
Ex Velocity Red, 06 RX-8 (expensive sports car)
Ex Sapphire Black, 08 Corsa Sri(cheap fastish motoring!)
Ex Grey, 10 Mazda 3 ts2 (yawn family motoring)
Silver, 12 Mercedes C-Class (more family motoring, but cheaper with a diesel)

On my MRs its the rear fog light which has been added when imported to the UK
Dont take offence but using capital letters is classed as being rude or angry

o sorry im kinda new to the internet & this being my 1st car im kinda new to the car game 2. plz could someone help me with this problem of the mysterious switch. plz

I think Peter answered your question in the post above.

The japanese MR-S doesn't have a rear foglight, but its required in the UK. There is also a requirement that the foglight switch illuminates when "on". One of the spare switch spaces to either the right or left of the steering wheel is usually where importers install these.

So thats my bet as to what you're looking at too. Your foglight should be wired into your lights, so it only works when your lights are on.

On mine it's on the right of the wheel below the passenger window lock. AIUI the alarm is fitted by Toyota in country not by the factory so they probably just fit the light in any available blank switch position.
