mr-s eating oil

can anyone tell me if they have had any problems with exesive oil use? my car is eating oil like crazy and chucking out black smoke as well as having quite low compretion this is my first toyota can anyone tell me what is the cause and how to rectife this?

A little late for the advice in the second thread, though, so the remedy, in short (as per the first thread):

Buy new engine, gut exhaust manifold (See second link above), buy new main CAT
Fit new engine
Fit gutted manifold
Fit new main CAT
