Milton Keynes pre-cat gutting?

Hi,

Just about to buy my first 2. Worried about the pre-cat issue and it looks like the price range I'm going for is most susceptible to these problems (looking at 2001ish, low mileage (20-30K) models). Can anyone receommend anywhere in or around Milton Keynes where I can take it to get it's pre-cats gutted before I start putting any miles on it?

Thanks for the reply, Durham is a bit too far to go, but thanks anyway!

Just read that Silverstone Performance (which is just up the road from MK) does them, anyone know how much they charge?

I don't think SP are doing them at the moment. As far as I am aware they are thinking about doing this at some stage but are to busy fitting turbo's ATM. You could give them a call and see what they say.

Just call SP and ask them.

They will surely find you a space, but, be prepared for a bill reflective of the time it takes. Eg if 3 hours to get off bolts 130  or something iyswim

Thanks for all of your helpful replies, and cheers for the offer of the guide heath..... must admit to being totally incompetent mechanically so will more than likely entrust it in the capably hands of SM, I'll give them a ring.

Pleased to announce I put down the deposit today on an X Reg Silver MR2!!!!!! Can't wit until Sunday when I go to pick it up. It's only done 17K.
