Is this just because it's an 06 reg and needs to wear in cos I have to get out to take down and takes me a few attempts for the catch to seal it down if you see what I mean!?

dont worry, its just new and with it being cold at the mo they are rather stiff. it'll drop without any worries in the summer but at the mo you may want to put the heater on for a couple of minutes, just to make it more flexible

Hey Rhumba, like kanu says, it's just stiff with being new... had the same problem with my 04 reg. Until it slackens off a bit you might find it's easier to get down if you press gently on the top of the rear window as the roof is going down, just before it goes flat... that helped with my roof anyway  s:D :D s:D

I agree my 2001 has just been fitted with a new roof, the more I drop it down the easier it becomes, dont forget to give the back window some help in folding down. Best only put the roof down if its warm as well.

Also lowering the windows a tiny bit makes it a lot easier to raise the roof - I can't raise mine without doing this.

I thought lowering the windows (or opening the doors) was essential to get the roof back up.

it is, read the handbook. If you dont you'll damage the door seals over time
