Watcha peeps.

Our '2 is due it's next service (50k) which we've been quoted just £100 for... seems reasonable but can someone give me break-down of what's required for this service? Is it simply an Oil & Filter change and level checks?   s:?: :?: s:?:

If that's the case, how easy is an oil & filter change on this thing?

All technical wizardry and guidance welcome!   s:D :D s:D

I'm sure someone will be along in a min to stop me going out to the car to get my 50K service booklet.

The price seems normal, there is plenty on this site about service costs.

I think the oil change is meant to be really easy on the 2. Again, plenty of info on the site, including how to change it.

Have you asked the dealer what the 50k service entails ?

Just checked my service book, and the 50k service is classed as an 'intermediate' service, the 20,000 mile services are the biggies.

Mostly just 'checks' on the 50k along with oil / filter change.

Inspect brake pads / disks

Inspect tyres and lights

Not much really for the £100 - as you said.  Maybe you could do it yourself ? Although if your selling your car, and you already have FSH - then prob better off getting it stamped, will help with the value of the car

.................but if you do it yourself, and keep the receipts for proof of service, what's the difference?.
99% of dealers (and garages) are rip off merchants anyway.
Just ask yourself even for a so called 'major service', what do they do for £200-300 anyway.  Apart from check things that you could do anyway.
Yes, you might have gathered, I hate garages, and do all my own maintance.
Only time you need a garage is to keep warrantee valid.
I've never had a problem in 20 years!!
