I've been toying with the idea of a sat nav for the 2, but don't want to spend loads as it'll likely be for occasional use, and flagging up points of interest (speed cameras!).
I've been looking at the Garmin I3, at £99 its not a bad price and seems to have the features I'm after, only thing is I can't see one working, Halfords are out of stock, and Comet's display one did not have the software loaded. My questions are

1.   How easy is the screen to read, I was surprised how small it is.

2.   How easy is the nav wheel thing to use

Cheers

option 3, get an old ipaq, a copy of TT and a plug in GPS unit, then mount it all in the car, you can get old ipaq's cheap on ebay nowadays

I got one when it was like 200 squids.

And all in all I'm happy with it.  The screen is very easy to read, you can change the brightness a long way and set the map to 3D or 2D with north at the top or the direction of travel.

The voice is an irritating american one but you can change it easily.

Adding points of interest is also easy with the included sofware, have a look on the web for a speed camera database which will alert you to speed cameras/ mobile camera sites and traffic light cameras (this only alerts you to where these are when you're navigating and not when you're just monitoring your position/speed).

You have a full post code input, which is nice.

Its got me lots a couple of times in the lake district when it tried to send me down a path unsuitable for motor cars but I guess you get a similar problem with most GPSs

The wheel thing is ok to use.. You simply use it select country (UK always as europe is not incuded! - you can add this for a price though), then you put in the first letter of city or postcode and it looks for all cities and postcodes starting with say N - then the second letter etc.. It always asks you for a number of the location you're looking for, which can be iritating when you're just looking for a street, but its ok.

All in all I'm happy with it, does exactly what you need a sat nav for, sticks nicley to the windscreen or dashboard and is very easy to use.

Cheers guys,

Don't fancy the ipaq options, mates got it, good system, but too many bits cluttering the dash area ect.
Think I'll nip into comet tonight and grab one!
