Hi peeps

What do you suggest I use to clean the stock sills with before putting the Lockwoods on? It needs to cut through the layer of teflon in the Autoglym I used to bring the black back.

Cheers

I used some methylated (sp?) spirits - got it from B&Q, thats what the Mr T's ones said to use to clean my sills.

I used some sort of alcohol (not the drinking kind).  Anything that cleans grease and doesn't leave a deposit should do.

Get some heavy duty sticky fixers to complement the adhesive strips on the Lockwood sills. Mine started to come away – and YES, I had white spirited the sills beforehand. Now they're stuck like s**t to a blanket.

PURE ALCOHOL.
As you set out for Ithaka
hope your road is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery. Cyclops,
angry Poseidon - don\'t be afraid of them.you\'ll never find things like that one on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high

I used some tape-head cleaner I had lying around, otherwise known as isopropyl alcohol. You could also use nail varnish remover, but being acetone based, it might strip the plastic too, so "test on an inconspicuous area first"  s:) :) s:)
