Firstly Hi to everyone   s:D :D s:D

Really glad I found these forums.

Had my "2" a week and am loving it, just a bit of advise regarding the audio install (and before you all sigh and say here we go again !) I have done some homework / searches prior to posting !

The car .... 54 plate "red" edition, with the standard Toyota Head unit.

Decided to get an after market head unit with inbuilt bluetooth hands free (upgrade the stock head unit I will get - better sound / MP3 playback and bluetooth hands free to boot)

Ordered Pioneer DEH-P55BT head unit.

So ...

I have read the sticky people refer to but am a little confused

As it states :

"You will need to order the following parts from a Toyota dealer.

55521 -16030 : Tray / Storage slot
55423 - 17040 : Surrounding trim
86221 -52050 : Left hand spacer
86221 - 52060 : Right hand spacer
86211 - 17050 : Left hand mounting bracket
86212 - 17050 : Right hand mounting bracket

When you pick them up, be cheeky and ask the parts department for 10 or 12 self tapping screws, as you will need a few extra. NB: If you a replacing the existing stereo you will not need the last two parts (L & R Mounting brackets) as they are already attached to the installed strereo. "

Yet this install guide states the 55423 - 17040 : Surrounding trim is exactly the same as the one from the stock stereo ? (Fourth picture)

1/ Do I need this trim 55423 - 17040 and where do I get it from if my dealer has nothing on their system under that code ?

2/ Does £36.98 sound about right, thought I read somewhere people paying around £12 or something

3/ I have also read that the aerial may not then go up and down using the ISO adapter, and as such I need to splice a cable ?
.....

1) No, You can use the one from your Toyota head unit
2) It sounds like a lot. If it is that much, you could always buy the fascia adapter from autoaudioaccessories for £19 delivered  s;) ;) s;)
3) The aerial will go down when you turn off the stereo, but when playing CDs it will still be up.

Thanks Matt, and thank you for the ISO adapter thats on it's way - not that fussed about the aerial then (to be fair I had never noticed it going down when switching to CD's !

Sorry for the long first post everyone, just wanted to get all info together and make it as clear as possible.
