If you have a high powered amp, don't run it off the cigarette lighter. You need a thick gauge cable with as short a run as possible direct to the battery with an inline fuse and another thick gauge cable to the closest good earthing point possible. There are lots of amp wiring kits around, it might make sense to get one and then you'll have all you need.

i agree with Nigel here, wire it to the cigarrette lighter socket and you run the risk of the wireing overheating and burning and dependant on the config it can do it without exceeding the 7.5amp fuse!

you'll need a seperate feed from the battery directly and a decsent earth, theres loads around in the 2. Your earth needs to be as short as possible and almost definatly under 1ft so with that in mind the best place is in the left bin or if you dont have an SMT ,under it

if you try useing the search facility theres loads of info on it

Semi-Manual Transmission. (Paddle gears)

Relevant for you since there is an SMT control box that sits under the passenger luggage bin. If you don't have one then you can use the space for an amp and as suggested get a power feed directly from the battery through the gromets on that side and find an earth on plenty of exposed metal bits under there.

Depends on how big and powerful it is. Bass is non directional ,so you could mount it anywhere as long as the volume is sufficient for you to hear it.

Doesnt look like youve got a clue mate..... My advice is not to touch it.. leave it to someone who knows..... like me if you are near newcastle....
It will cost you around £20 for a decent wiring kit for an amp .....
then you start getting whining sounds through your speakers with the engine being so near the amp and so on ..... ==== Leave to an expert.

Whining through the speakers wasn't an issue for me on my last 2, and , like many my amp was close to the engine. Come to that , pretty much everything is near the engine on the 2.
I agree though, getting the power and earth feeds right is critical.

Whining all depends on the setup.... I have a big sound system i my rear bin all amped up, then another amp for the sub system in the front storage compartment.... sounds good ! also no whining   s:lol:  s:lol:
