Rear Speakers Don't Work

I have spent some time this afternoon fitting the Alpine Eminence rear speakers I bought from Richie last month. After a few calls to Dr Alex I fitted up the cable to the speakers then ran it thru the luggage bins and down the passenger side door sill. With everything back together I had further consultation with Alex and a chap from Motorworld. He called their mobile fitter who said I needed to cut the green and purple wires marked RR and LR for Right Rear and Left Rear. I did this then added bullet connectors to all of the ends.

When I fitted the ISO loom back in to the head unit and switched on I got absolutely nowt from the rear. The front speakers are fine, still playing as they always did but no amount of playing with the Clarion head unit has made any difference there is no sound at all coming from the back.

Any ideas about what I have done wrong? I'm hoping to be able to avoid having the mobile fitter come out and fix something basic and charge me after doing all the hard work.

just uot of interest have yiu checked the radio settings.

you can often move the sound from all 4 to front of rear. just check you don't have it set to front only!

won't help, if tehy were reversed they would just play out of phase

This confused me a bit on mine

On the back of the ISO (toyota thingy) I connected two wires.  These two wires then split into 4 on the loom given to me by ADAM (GT300) and connected into the speakers.  Confused me how one current can just be split into two without any electronics.
