Std Head unit advice

Help needed,

Ive read through the user manual initially and through the other std books that come with the car, I cant seem to spot a radio code.

I am looking to disconnect the battery to do an ECU re-set but dont want I don't want to happen is when I connect the battery back up is to have the radio tell me that I now need to enter the code to activate it as it appears I don't have one.

So can anyone shed any light on this please?

I've never had to re enter a code for my standard head unit and I've reset the ECU loads of times.

Do you disconnect the battery or pull a fuse when you do a ECU re-set?

Doesn't matter which really, but I always found that the battery way always reset the ECU, whereas the fuse way didn't. Either I'm an idiot, or the battery way is more reliable.

Actually, I've disconnected the battery and then spent ages wondering why the alarm went off. Don't know which fuse to pull.  s:oops: :oops: s:oops:
Now I just flick a switch on my Unichip.

Now I just flick a switch on my Unichip.

My car still runs fine when I "switch off" the unichip. Wierd.  Maybe it only turns off the ecu power when the ignition is off?
