hi, i would be grateful for any help anyone could give.
i have removed my fisher price head unit from the car, this leaves these 4 block connectors.

i have bought this wiring adapter from matt,

the 2 white block connectors on this connect to 2 of the connectors in the first pic.

this is the wiring that came with the h/u

and the back of the new h/u

the black block connector goes into the back of the new h/u.
this leaves 13 wires. the black and brown connectors on the wiring adapter i bought from matt have 13 wires also.

question, if i cut off these connectors on the wiring adapter and connect them properly to the new h/u wiring and plug in the 2 white block connectors to the 2 block connectors in the car am i on the right track? this would leave 2 block connectors in the car unplugged and therefore unused, am i simply bypassing these?

im at my wits end here  s:oops:  s:oops:   if no one can help its wallet out  s:cry:  s:cry:   and an auto electricians prices  s:shock:  s:shock:

The wiring harness bought from Matt is a Toyota to ISO. Plug the 2 white connectors into the car - there are only 2 white connectors in the car that will fit (the other 2 can be tucked away). That's the easy bit!

I'd then say if your new HU shipped with a specific HU-to-ISO adapter, then hopefully the 13 colous of the connectors match the colours on Matt's adapter and you should be able to strip off the connectors and match colour-by-colour. If the colours don't match then you might need the connector diagrams.   s:? :? s:?

Or, alternatively, see if Matt can supply a HU to ISO adapter already wired with a white ISO plug, then you can just:

Toyota loom -> Toyota-to-ISO-adapter -> ISO to HU adapter -> HU

which I think is how mine is done (but I haven't bothered going out to have a look  s:oops:  s:oops:  )

I think the two extra plugs on the Toyota loom are for Sat Nav or something, they are not needed anyway  s:) :) s:)

I'm afraid you are going to have to butcher the Toyota to ISO adapter I sent and connect them up with crimps or a soldering iron. The instruction manual for the headunit should show you which wires do what on the supplied adapter (with lose wires) and then match those up to the standard ISO adapter (pin out can be found on the web for the ISO plug).

What make of headunit is it? If you are having problems, give me as much info as possible and send me the ISO adapter and headunit adapter and I will do the soldering for you. If you want me to have a go, PM me and I'll give you me address  s:) :) s:)

Cheers, Matt.
