Has anyone got images of the back of the standard Fisher price unit? I spent most of last week doing a search for it with no luck.

I would like to connect my Ipod to the standard HU that comes with the post 03 models.  I've made a few phone calls to internet suppliers for the cable, they wanted an image of the back of the HU to see what connections would work with my unit, and to be honest I don't want to start getting the HU out till the very last moment as I'm sure its not as strait forward as it is with the standard DIN ones.

Many thanks with any help

Thank you for your replies, David, Thank you for the link, unfortunately for me it was a different model to mine.

Draggon and Nelix, thanks for linking and image,  I'm hopingif I forward the image to them "in-car-express" at  w www.incarexpress.co.uk/ w  they'll be able to tell me if the connect2 cable will work with my Ipod.  Reading the radio section of themr2 manual this evening, got to say I too don't give it much hope of the ipod to work.

The front of mine say's Toyota 58806 and looks like this

The sad bit is that in the MGTF I've got a 2001 model Blaupunkt radio that has AUX and the Ipod works with it

Many thanks to all,  oh nelix ....... Very good choice of colour for your new mr2 ... but then again I might be just a little biased  s:) :) s:)

I have a Connect2 VTYX001 unit to give an aux in  connected to my 58806 HU (Came out of my old 02 Avensis). To fit is easy simply unplug the bottom left connector looking from the front, or bottom right from the back) and plug the Connect2 unit in between the plug and socket. I found I could do this from the passenger footwell without taking the head unit out. Took out the glove box and velcro'ed the control box behind it. the aux cable then runs into the glove box. To select press disc button to toggle to the CD autochanger (appears as CD 1-1) plug in to MP3 and away you go.

Currently £39.99 at  m http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_prod ... no=VTYX001 m

Hope it helps

Thanks for this info pada1462, I'll get on to incarexpress about this.  after I sent incarexpress the image of the back of the HU they sent back this link:

 m http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_prod ... ATYIPOD001 m

to a connect2 that would/might work with my standard HU, only it was going to cost £90.00 plus P&P, so was going to buy a new HU the one nelix has.  Anyway going to have a chat with incarexpress in the morning and hopefully one way or another I'll be able to use my Ipod

Looking at that one its an IPOD interface as opposed to an aux in.

With that Connects2 you can scroll the track in the folder or playlist on the ipod with the HU controls with the one I have its a simple aux in connecting to the head phone socket of any MP3 player track controls via the MP3 player.

As I have a Rio Carbon not an Ipod (I have this thing about Apple's DRM) it suits me. If you want HU control then its the more expensive job. To me its only benefit is it will charge the ipod, or if you have steering wheel controls it could be useful for changing tracks as the HU so low down.

Cheers
