is it possible to lock the glovebox with the vallet key

I was just playing and managed to lock the glovebox with my one and only key (it isn't the master key and its an import so getting one from my toyota dealer is proving difficult).

Is it possible with the vallet key to lock the glovebox but not unlock it, or have i just got a worn key?

I'm a bit scuppered now as i am going to get my ac regassed on saturday and can't now shut the bonnet as i can't get back in the glovebox to pull the open latch again.

Help please......

I feel like a muppet. Oh and the nice shinny trd front strut brace i bought when i was in the US doesn't fit as it clashes with the brake reservior cap, i guess the US one is different for LHD  s:-( :-( s:-(

thats unlucky chap.

im not sure about the other key being one way only, i would imagine its a worn one.

damm shame about the bracing too.  peksy yanks, always have to be slightly different

After half an hour of desperate shaking and wobbling of the key it came open again. I guess i have got a copy of the master key after all it must just be worn.

I'll get a fresh couple cut and then rekey the locks to the new ones to avoid this happening again.

just glad you got it sorted.  get them spares done ASAP.. its one of those "oh i'll never need it' scenarios
