Fascia Adaptors

Apologies for repeating anything that has already been posted but....

....while trying to wire up my i pod adaptor to the 12v socket I've managed to pull off the plastic strips surrounding and casing the CD player. It's now really loose and looks rubbish. Having searched in the forum I've seen lots of posts regarding fascia adaptors, will one of these solve the problem and is it a case of simply replacing the surround? The car is a Jap import if that makes any difference?
