Hi everybody,

I need you help to once again bring the dash of my 2000 MR2 Roadster back to looking Respectable,

I bought a Stereo Facia from autoaudioaccessories.co.uk last week and had it fitted last night with my SONY MEX-BT5100 CD Player with Bluetooth and ipod connection, by danny @ South Woodham Ferrers Car Audio Centre (amazing job done, and what he doesn't know..... probably isnt worth knowing)

I work on the Ambulances and had to leave Danny to complete the work alone, as I we had a Red Call... Leaving somebody (that you dont really know) with your car and Keys made me on edge!!!  to say the least.... But on returning Danny was still there with my car.... phew...

By this time (Danny had finished the instilation) and I was soo upset to see how the dash now looked...   s:( :( s:(

The problam being that there is a 4 to 5mm gap above and below the facia... and the actual facia stands out proud by about 15mm (so that it is flush with the "Cup" holder / ashtray facia) but in doing so you can see the fixing plate / screws holding the stereo to the "Dash" !!!   s:cry:  s:cry:

On looking at it this morning (I was working all night) only made matters worse and it looked twice as bad as the night before..

I have to admit that I was sleepy and had just finished a night duty, and now (after a sleep) looking at the problam with a new light, Ive found the said problam... i think...   s:roll:  s:roll:

Looking at the picture on web site, the facier has an outer "Oblong" which
goes over the facia itself...

i'll try to explain,

The stereo has a blanking plate which fits into the facia which gets bolted
into the vehicles old double din slot...

Arround this goes an "Oblong" plate which hides all the bolts etc at the side... I think...

autoaudioaccessories.co.uk is unavailable to answer emails and telephone calls at the moment???? And to be honest I cant wait, it just looks sooooo bad...

The question I need help with, is:-

Is there a part missing?

I have tried to fit the original one from my old stereo but this is too small...

Is the 2003+ Model Plastic outer Surround of the stereo different from mine / larger? and would I have to purchase this part?

Toyota say they dont do a single din?

My old double din stereo is / was a sony WX-C570R

All help would be much appreciated

I own autoaudioaccessories. I'm on the website 4-5 times a day and respond to every PM I'm sent. Apologies if you haven't managed to contact me!

What you need is part no. 55423-17040-CO from Toyota - it is the outer ring from the factory Sony stereo.

Yes, you need the 2003+ outer surround to go around the fascia adapter.

The part number is posted in several threads that a search ought to pull up.

[edit] Beaten to it..
