Hi,

Just a quickie if someone can help.

Bought my Mr2 a couple of weeks ago, but who ever had it last has the stereo programmed in to give traffic alerts.  This cuts into whatever I am listening to and i'm about to get an itrip for my ipod so I won't want the frequency being interupted by traffic alerts every 10 minutes!  I'm sure someone will be able to tell me how to disable it??? Thanks, Jo  s:o :o s:o

Turn off the TA function, is you car post or pre facelift or does it have an aftermarket stereo?

look for a button marked TP or TA and click it till it disappears on the screen.

It's an Mr2 Roadster, new shape with the factory fitted standard Sony CD / Cassette in it.

I will have a look and see if I can press the Traffic Control switch off which someone has mentioned below.

Thanks

If the HU is tuned to the iTrip then it wont know when a traffic announcement is being transmitted as it relies on the tuner being set to a radio station that carries the TA flag (which it wont be  s;) ;) s;)  ) so it will make no difference if TA is on or off  s:) :) s:)

I think the radios 'listen' for traffic announcements on all frequencies.  That's why radio Oxford interrupts my trips to the shops with news of the M40/M25 interchange (which I am 2+ hours away from grrrr ....)

ISTR there's a button on the front - somewhere in the bottom row - of the older Sony units, probably marked TA or TP, that controls this function.
