if its a terminator then it'll be a balance resistor

Assuming the bloke who's borrowed my multimeter gives mine back, I'll see what mine bells out like - of course it'll still be hard to tell if it's just a resistor or if there's anything else involved.

Nothing on the Innovate forums?  Probably not, I suppose, as they have a vested interest  s:lol:  s:lol:

normally a terminator is just a resistor unless it requires timing, which will incorporate an inductor/capacitor circuit, but thats rare and normally only used in multiplexing circuits

Hey well a restance to try would be good. I'm happy to try it. With my luck I'll blow the car up but thats how you learn isn't it. I sort of like being the one to try new things.

Well, the worst thing you could do is blow the LC-1 up - apparently they are quite electrically sensitive  s:( :( s:(  (Shorting the analogue outputs will kill them, for example).

Stu - it's not a multiplexed circuit, it's a simple two-wire RS-232 circuit in fact, no flow control lines even AFAIK.  Still, it works  s;) ;) s;)

Ooh - I love the post window of phpBB3 - it told me that the thread had changed, I scrolled down and clicked Quote next to the post I wanted to reply to.. all without leaving this window.  Nice!

It's not for the LC1. It's for the XD16. I have one in the LC1 already but can't get at it now it's installed. I need to make another programing cable but with a 2.5 female plug to program that from the dash end. then the terminator for the XD16.
