I want to replace my bulbs with LED ones basically because they are brighter and should last longer than standard ones. The owner manual says "21v Wedge Base Bulb" so I was guessing these would fit. http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/3801157-ultratower-stop-tail-bulb-p-1863.html

I haven't had a chance to take the rear lights off yet to have a look just wondering if anyones knows if these would fit?  s:) :) s:)

Simple answer - NO.

The '2 uses WEDGE base bulbs (as you have mentioned), the one you have picked is a dual filament BAYONET based bulb.

I tried to do this swap only to find that the LED bulbs were too big to fit through the hole in the rear light cluster   s:roll:  s:roll:  !! Check the size of the LED when compared to the standard bulb very carefully.

Can I suggest that anyone looking to replace standard element bulbs with LED style ones that the replacement one are E marked and are street legal. I say this as I had a chat with a supplier of these at the MPH Show today and was nicely informed that they are illegal unless E marked . He said he knows of known on the replacement marked that are street legal. He lost a sale there from me. It appears that the Audi's and others with them are special sealed units not a bulb replacement.

Necro thread post!

Now one of my rear lights has gone out.
It's the standard stop/lights on one.

Anyone know the model number/specs so I can pop in to my local factors and buy a new one?

That's for a 2000 model.

Not sure of the part number but its a duel filament capless slide bulb 21w/5w got my spares in Halfrauds as I was passing. I would think most local motor factor /accessory shops stock them.
