Please could someone point out what colour the 'remote' cable for the standard Sony head unit is please on a 2001?, i've already got the amp and cabling in and  I think it's the Blue one with the red stripe but I'm not sure.

They are usually blue with a white stripe, but could well be a red stripe on it. I would ground a voltmeter and touch it on the wire with the car off, then with the car on. If it perks up from 0v to 12v, your onto a winner, mate!

Thanks for the advice I've found it and got the Amp and cabling in now, very pleased just got to work out the best place for the sub now  s:D s:D
