Rules for Sales ... READ BEFORE YOU POST

We here at MR2ROC are justifiably proud that this is a tight-knit community who respect one another and always try to play fair when selling an item in these forums, but there may be a minority of people who try to take advantage of others or behave unfairly.

The rules set out below are intended to maintain a positive and fair atmosphere for all. Threads that do not comply with these may be edited, closed or removed without prior warning or notification to the thread owner.

RULES FOR THE SELLER:
1. To post items for sale within the marketplace, you must have a minimum post count of 30. Spamming to reach the post count will not be tolerated and will be dealt with by moderation
2. You must be the owner of the item(s) to be advertised
3. Always list each item with a price. Auctions (requesting offers, etc.) are NOT supported
4. The use of "or nearest offer" (ono) is allowed providing the seller negotiates on a first come, first served basis before moving on if an agreeable price cannot be reached
5. Group Buys should be within their relevant section, not Private Sales.
6. All Group Buys should be confirmed with the Committee before posting
7. Do not advertise services or businesses
8. No external linking (eBay, Pistonheads, Autotrader, etc.)
9. Breaking of cars is supported on MR2ROC but only in certain circumstances and with the permission of the committee. The club wishes to promote and encourage the conservation of the MR2 Roadster

RULES FOR EVERYONE ELSE:
1. Buyer beware (take the same precautions as you would with any transaction)
2. Questions should relate to the item(s) for sale only
3. Do not hijack, ruin or derail other people's threads
4. Do not bump other people's threads
5. Report a thread if it breaks the rules

To ensure fair trading, all negotiations are to be kept within the thread on the open forum and the Private Message function should only be used for personal details (such as payment, delivery address, etc.) once the sale has been agreed. Selling and buying via PM is strictly forbidden and will result in bans as appropriate.

For the benefit of members the Club runs a Buyer/Seller Feedback thread and before taking part in any transaction you may wish to review any comments made, and add your own once the transaction has been completed. See here

With every transaction carried out, the legal contract exists solely between the seller and the buyer. MR2ROC, its Committee and Moderators take no responsibility for any actions taken by either party.


MODERATION:
1. Moderators will apply the rules strictly. Unacceptable and negative postings will be removed from the thread and the member warned. Repeated transgression of the rules will be viewed in a dim light and a "3 strikes and you're out" ruling will apply. Meaning the committee will decide upon the level and period of a punishment for the offending individual. The committee's decision is final.
2. If a query relating to the accuracy or legitimacy of a for sale thread is raised, the thread will be locked and updated with a moderator comment to that effect until the issue has been resolved.
3. If a For Sale thread has been proved as false, misleading, or fraudulent in the judgement of the moderation team then the thread will be removed.
