Hi all, been lurking for a while but now I've got time to post.
First of all my qualifications...

Doesn't seem to work - if anyone can help that would be cool.

Secondly a test report video from German TV program MotorVision
http://motorvision.sport1.de/coremedia/generator/www.motorvision.de/Rubriken/Auto/Testberichte/Toyota/Main.html
Obviously click on the MR2 report, then click on the video option.
The track test results at the end of the video are comparible to other cars they tested on the following list;

Position Fahrzeug Zeit
1 Mitsubishi Evo VII 18,92
2 BMW M3 CSL 18,94
3 Wiesmann MF 3 SMG 19,28
4 Mitsubishi Evo VI 19,35
5 Porsche 911 GT 3 2003 19,49
6 Audi RS4 19,58
....
30 Ford Focus ST 170 20,34
31 Honda NSX 20,35
32 Renault Clio 2.0 16V 20,39
33 Toyota MR2 20,45
34 Alfa Romeo 156 GTA 20,47
35 Honda S2000 20,47
36 Peugot 206 S 16 20,48

The full list (including most of our "rivals") is at the bottom of the page found here
http://motorvision.sport1.de/coremedia/generator/www.motorvision.de/Rubriken/Auto/Motorvision__TV/Main.html

Alas the Elise isn't there yet - that would be interesting.
The spoken results during the video tell us what we all know already, great handling, steering response and agility, but a little too soft, a little bit more power is needed and it has a tendancy to understeer.  Braces, springs and turbo it is then!   s:) :) s:)

Or for those, like me, who don't speek a word of German, here is the report poorly translated into English

That might be a bit misleading Peter, the report you've linked to is just the front page that changes regularly, the track time list at the bottom doesn't really relate to the reports but is always there.  Bad site architecture I agree.    s:? :? s:?
