My MR-S has an immobilizer that the clutch has to be pressed and a key fob must be near the ignition switch for the car to start. Something is faulty as most of the time the car starts but other times it wont. After several turns of the key and/or pressing the clutch several times she'll fire up.
Any ideas what may be the problem if not can the immobilizer be bypassed and another unit installed and also is this an aftermarket immobilizer.

Does your imob key have a battery?

What is the make of the imob?

Immobilzer key fob has no battery from what I can see. It's similar to those you press against a contact to star tthe car. No idea what the make is as the car was bought with it already fitted.

In most cases you will just need a new fob, if you take a picture i might be able to tell you the make and link you to getting a new one

It's that time again, it's playing up again. It seems to get progressively worse over a 2 week period then suddenly it's working again.

Any ideas/suggestions?

sorry never got back to you, tbh it sounds like it has some sort of fault, if you haven't got the original code for the key then i would say get it taken off and a new one fitted, i did check at work and if you did have the key then it would still cost around £50 to sort, new ones are £100 and about £50 to fit unless you can do it yourself

hope that helps
