is there a 12v feed i can use... in the front :S?

yo dudes

just after some advice, fitting some HID lights and they need a second power supply as well as the stock H4 feed) it says direct from the battery

its got a 10amp fuse on it... but is there a supply i can use already in the front?

Otherwise i'm gonna have to feed a wire from the battery to the front? in which case whats the best way of doing this please?

dont forget you will need to install a headlamp washer unit to remain road legal

There's a permanent live in the fuse box in the front - the most easily accessible place is the buzz bar on the left hand side of the box (you'll find it easily enough with a multimeter), or the corresponding feed wire underneath. (Which I think is the white & blue wire, but do check, it's been a while)

Why would i require those, for an MOT test it simply says?

LIGHTS

All required lights are checked for:
• Operation.
• Condition.
• Security.

Side lights and headlamps:
• Acceptable make/model.
• Dip and aim must be within specified perameters Stop lights, indicators and hazard lights*
• Acceptable make/model
• Lights,indicators and hazard lights must not interfere with each other whilst in operation.
• Indicators, stop lights and hazard warning lights function. Rear fog lamps**
• Must be fitted to the centre or offside of the vehicle.
• Tell-tale must work.
• Must not be affected by other lamps and not be obscured.
• Must be red.

2. Once fitted to the vehicle it must have headlamp cleaning and self-levelling (which can be for the headlamp or can be in the vehicle suspension - some expensive estate cars have "self-levelling suspension" and that is adequate). Also the dipped beam must stay on with the main beam.

The MOT means nothing, violating Type Approval does.

Under the Road Traffic Act 1988 it is an offence to supply, fit or use vehicle parts which are not legal.

In summary it is not permitted to convert an existing halogen headlamp unit for use with HID bulbs. The entire headlamp unit must be replaced with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs and it must be installed in accordance with the rules stated above.

Thats why i wasn't keen on doing it hence the post   s:roll: :roll: s:roll:  besides its fused   s:lol: :lol: s:lol:  

Anyway now i've had a reply i can shift the supply to the front.

Cheers for the info on HID's didn;t realise, i'll holla the manufacturer and see what they say. I know it did come with a cover over certain area's of the bulb i'll see what they say basically and report back

best way I found to make this work is take teh battery off

dremel off a section of bus bar cover

then get a 20 amp screw terminal connector block

dremel a slot in one side, and screw it onto teh bus bar

thats how my chargecooler pump and spotlighst were done
