Dodgy battery?
If the battery isn't up to it then it will draw power from the alternator and/or dip the lights.

Mine does this ever so slightly - always has.
As long as it doesn't stall!   s:lol:  s:lol:

+I.

If these are no other symptoms, she should be ok.

Keep in mind that modern batteries  die very quickly unlike yesteryear, where they would stagger on for weeks before they gave up the actual ghost!!

With the windows that is normal - there is no safety cut-out on our windows, so by telling the motor to raise the window even though it's already on it's stops you create a massive current draw (because the motor is stalled), which dims the lights at idle as the alternator can't keep up.

Electrical motors really do not like stalling - if you've ever stalled a power drill you'll know that  s;) ;) s;)

Increase in revs (possibly not by 500 though!) is normal when you turn the air con on, only at idle though.

Just a simple thought check that your battery connections are clean and that you have a good earth.

Hmmm rig up that electric turbo and fit an intercooler next to the aircon condenser. It's like a perpetual energy machine!
