Seems I have purchased a heated seat.
The guy left the plug and the female plug plug 4 wires.

Question is, what do I do with them?

Sorry to hijack Russ but does the connector under the seat that makes the annoying, flashing, 'you're not wearing your seatbelt' light also control the airbag sensor? i.e. if it's unplugged my passenger wouldn't get a cushiony pillow if an accident were to take place?

I'd guess red=12v, both black are ground...

You have a multimeter? Measure the resistance between red and black, should be few ohms.

Make sure you measure in coldish place, where the possible thermostat isn't open.
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

Yep, does look like the connectors I have on my heated seats (anyone know where those connectors can be bought by the way??)

The original gb/install thread is probbably still around on here somewhere, but basically they feed off the fag lighter circuit and go to two buttons in the centre console..

Hi,

There was a thread with pics that showed  the retro fit round buttons that were fitted in the center console.

There is also  a thread on here detailing my retro fitting the heated pads using the two  OE oblong switches that sit on the spaces to the LHS of the steering wheel.

Wires from the seats went to switches, my fit had a constant live coming from battery and switched live from cigar lighter with a couple of relays in line, if I remember.

If you're still wondering at the weekend, I'll drag my backside under the seats and relive the experience.

I don't think that's from the GB, IIRC, they all had 2-wire connectors. That one has three. It does have very similar connector though, probably cause someone said the UK heated seats have same elements as I sourced for the GB's too. But apparently not identical.

Do the UK seats have two temp ranges or something?

I still bet it just wants 12V on some wires and you can measure them and figure it out.  s8) 8) s8)

Its red, black and grey on those 3 wires

just to clarify, its ORANGE, BLACK and GREY

So my guess is
Upper heat pad
Lower Heat pad
Ground?

Just measure them and stop guessing.  s:lol:  s:lol:

Makes no sense to have separate wires for both pads. It would make sense if it had lo and hi positions on the switch.

The original heated seats I have DO have hi and lo  positions on the OE switches!

Cheers B, that makes much more sense now as these are OEM seats
