Hi guys,

Any help would be appreciated. Thing is my mr2 standard sony cd player seams to not want to play any cd's anymore. All I get when i insert a cd is a minute wait then an error message and it throws out the cd. This happens even with bought cd's. All other aspects of the unit work fine , eg radio and tape , however the cd won't pick the discs up. I have tried cleaners etc , but nothing , anyone experienced similiar or any ideas whats up with my system ?

Mine had a similar issue once - Wouldn't keep a disc in at all.

On the standard Sony there is a tiny reset button just above the volume knob (which I didn't know about at that time!) - Probably worth trying that, or removing the radio fuse for a bit, or (what I did) disconnect the battery for a few minutes.

Might not fix, but free to try!

The cleaner disks aren't very good.

Lasers can lose track or simply "wear out", but it may be worth opening it up and trying to clean it with a cotton bud. This helped one of my old CD players.
My X360 wore the laser out and the unit needed to be replaced.
