Hi. I am a newbie to the MRS. I have just bought one and understand that being an import I need to have my foot on the clutch to stary it. i am confused with the alaram system. The key remote will lock the doors but not activate the alarm. If i activate the alarm with the alarm fob, it will beep for about 15 secs then the alarm will sound. So it seems i can not just acrivate the alarm and leave it. Also to start the car i need to activate the alarm/lock the car, then quickly deactivate it (as it beeps), then put my foot on the clutch, and then i can start it. If i do not go through the cycle of araming then disarming the alarm I can not start the car. Is this normal? Any help please.

Didn't think the MR-S came with a factory alarm or immobiliser from what I remember..
Current: Genuine GT300 Monocraft running a 2ZZ-GE
Ex: Trial kitted Cam\'d Power fc

Aftermarket alarm only for insurance only in the UK
You will have to go to an alarm company or disable it somehow

So it will be an aftermarket, now you've just got to find out which one and then find the manual!

I think I had a sigma meta alarm in my mark 2. i dont think it helps you any way. I would say make sure everything is properly closed, the engine lid and the frunk. that is the sort of thing that upsets the alarm.

if it is beeping then you have a sensor triggering it.
Probably the boot, bend the sensor up so it makes contact, see if that stops the beeps.
Then try the bonnet and see if that works.
Mine did this and I fixed it

Yes you are right, it was the engine switch. Have replaced it and all is good. Thanks
