Hello All,

New to the club and found many resolutions to my MR2 issues in the past thanks to this site, thought I'd sign up and get involved.

Basically, I have installed my new Headunit, using the basic 2 socket ISO wiring harness.
Headunit works great, still have 2 spare sockets on the car wiring, which I'm guessing one will be to power the aerial?

How do I get the aerial to extend for me to use radio? Or is there an easy way to swap the aerial?

Many Thanks in advance.

The black wire in the car wiring which is in the plug going to the headunit is the one that controls the aerial

Thanks for the response. Been looking around the forum and come across this (should of looked properly first)
But I still cannot find an answer as to where I wire the black one... what cable on my headunit?

That would depend on what head unit you have - our mind-reading skills are not that great   s:wink:  s:wink:

Page 7, looks like you need the Blue/White.

So, correct me if I'm wrong and feel free to insult if this is an obvious question lol.

Is it as simple as wiring the black to blue/white, then when headunit is powered, then aerial will extend?

To find the right wire just use a meter to measure the voltage on the spare wires coming out of the HU as you switch it on/off and pick the one that does what you want the aerial to do

Yeah going to give the Aerial thing a go on the weekend.

Lol, all mine is controlled via my Video iPod... music and films streamed to the screen  s:) :) s:)
Most CD's will be better quality, dependant on how the mp3s are ripped and what quality setting is used...

Ive got same problem, with my  PIONEER DEH-X3500Ui, antenna isnt popping up, didnt even think about it when fitting HU. Have to take it all out weekend to do the black wire to blue/white wire. The blue/white wire is wired to the remote line to my amp. Pain in the arse taking it all out lol.

Can you not get your hand round the back of the head unit whilst its fitted? Should be easy to see using a small mirror...
