I have just purchase a mr2 2003 with only one set of keys, however  i have found a remote and blank key which i have now had cut, with some success  i can program the key to start the car the car but not open or close the doors

I first undertook the following
1 get in the car, shut the doors
2 press and release the brake and gas pedal once
3 insert master key into the ignition switch
4 press and release the gas pedal 5 times
5 press and release the brake pedal 6 times
6 remove master key
7 insert new key
8 press and release the brake and gas pedal once
9 wait 80 seconds or so remove new key
press brake
This allowed for the transporter to work and be recognised by the car however no door locking.

Tried second procedure
A. The key is NOT inserted in the ignition.
B. The driver's door is open.
1. Insert the key into the ignition switch and then pull it out twice .
3.Close and open the car door twice .
5. Key in ignition and out
6.Close and open car door twice
7 .key and close car door
8  Ignition on once and off, also tried twice
9 Wait for locks to cycle once and then press lock unlock together on key for 2 seconds
10 Hold lock button 3 seconds

Just what I am doing wrong is baffling me; don't know where to go on this other than Mr. T Any help greatly appreciated
