hey probably going to ask another question which might be obvious to some so here goes i'm going to buy a new radio and i got a few questions bout fitting it.
(never done anything like this before)

This looks like an acceptable one dimensions and that are all in the link

http://www.adflyer.co.uk/motoring-parts-and-accessories/car-parts-and-accessories/car-accessories/xtrons-d709-7-face-off/t-screen-car-dvd-player/723785

Is it recommended get a proffesional to do this job? or is it simple enough to do it myself?

oh and if it doesn't quite fite what then..? (haven't checked the dimensions yet)

Just an old bloke trying to save you money but personally when I`m driving my`2 the radio`s mostly turned off as I love the sound of the car too much to drown it out with music  s:oops:  s:oops:

In theory it's not hard to do yourself, but you don't have to search for long on the forum to see the many problems that people have come up against when doing this job. E.g. getting the right installation kit, blanking plates, the parts of the car you have to dismantle to install it, matching up with the connectors in the car, getting the aerial to work, preventing the TV/DVD working when moving (legal requirement), getting the right power supplies.... If you're fairly confident (and theres lot of help available here) then do it yourself, but if you don't want to spend a Saturday fiddling under the dashboard then get someone else to do it. The price looks very good for that much functionality, so even with fitting the overall cost won't be unreasonable.

that speed in that gear!! mine in that gear is about 70. what gearbox do you have??

edit

In my opinion you get what you pay for.
Buying a cheap stereo isnt like buying a cheap pair of socks...although they will likely last a similar length of time.

Personally I wouldn't stray away from mainstream manufacturers - JVC, Clarion, Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood etc.

This theory is especially important based on the fact the MR2 isn't exactly renowned for its silky soft suspension,
in time the only sounds heard near your brand spanking cheap stereo will likely be the sounds of you opening your wallet
again to purchase another  s:D :D s:D  (In my opinion*, happy to be slaughtered on this one  s;-) ;-) s;-)  )
