Hello guys,

ok so i admit this isnt for my mr2 obviously, its for my family 5 door lol. I purchased some headrests from a peugeot 407 with tv screens alredy fitted for my peugeot 307 knowing it has the samy type of leather and the poles would be the right width to fit in my seats etc.

the screens have a wire coming out the bottom of the headrest with  what looks like one of those 3.5mm jack things.
I asumed at the time it would be a simple case of pluging an extesnion wire onto these and routing the wire to the tv/nav/double din unit the car has.  I approached a local audio centre who basically said because they dont know how the wires are "pinned up" there was nthing the can d other than rip the old screens out and put their own in and wire it in that way. now im thinking well yeh they would say that wouldnt they? I know the wire will supply video aswell as power to the screens but wondered if anybody at all had a clue where to get this sorted or can point me in the right direction?

thanks

can you put up a pic of the plug please. jacks can vary with amount of contacts but at the end of the day you can take the sceeens out and see wat wire goes where not a hard job just takes time.

To be honest I 'd have done a wee bit of research before buying the headrests. I have so many bad buys (or crap as the wife calls it) in the back of the garage, I could start a shop!
Anyway, is the H/U  on the 407 the same as the 307?
First things first, suggest you get hold of a 407 manual or look on line for the details on the 407 H/U to eyeball the connections.
Chances are that the  407 H/U may be an upspec one which is not the same as the 307, sorry!

I recently assisted a pal retro fitting to headrest screens on a X5 (not Merc screens) the DVD drivers were behind the individual screens. Fitting took about 45 mins, the whole unit cost about £200, bloody brilliant! The rear passengers can watch different DVDs, listening via wirless headophones, kept his kids well amused on a 3 hour drive!

Hope this helps
