Hi to all on the forum!! Lots of lil gems on info on here  s:) :) s:)

Ive just bought a 02 MR2 and what can I say other than! GET IN! What a brill car!

Heres my problem...

My mr2 has a after market sony headunit fitted, and one of the speakers isnt working. Im having trouble getting it out of the dash, but im sure I will get there to check all connections to it. The other thing is, how do I get to the speaker (drivers side) to check the connections? Does the round plastic part over the speaker come off... or does all the parts covernig the speaker and door tray come off too?

I have had a look on the other thread called "Fitting New front speakers !!!!! All explained" but no images come up?

Cheers

Yes Richey, you have to strip off the plastic interior door trims to access the door speakers.

Is that the entire door trim? Or just the parts over the speaker? Are there any pics on here of one stripped down?

Looks like the entire thing has to come off then! Nooo...

Thats great tho  s:) :) s:)  thanks for the info

Yes the whole of the interior door trim needs to come off to access the speakers. But I would work through the connectors on the back of the radio first. If you get down in the footwells with a small inspection mirror and a torch you can do visual checks on the connectors.

Hi,

To be fair, unless someone replaced the speakers, the likely problem is the connection at the back of the head unit as referenced in the previous thread.

Have you checked the balance on the stereo too? Just in case!  s;) ;) s;)

Yep, have tried the balance, the left and speaker and tweeter works fine, then changed the balance to the right, and only the right hand tweeter works :S I take it the rh tweeter works on the same wiring as the rh speaker?

cheers
