Ive managed to get hold of some facelift lights as my pre-faclift lights are turning yellow/green   s:mrgreen:  s:mrgreen:

Ive seen some different wiring diagrams and im not sure which way to go with it. I thought we had something in the how to guide but maybe im wrong   s:? :? s:?

The main guide i found was here  m http://www.mr2spyder.net/spyderweb/inde ... ing-in-03/ m

But im pretty sure this guide was done on a US car and im not sure at this stage if theres any different between that and the UK vehicles. Ive also realised im pretty useless with wiring diagrams   s:oops:  s:oops:

My intension is to get my head round it and do it myself or if there is anyone local who's willing to provide a helping hand it would be very welcomed  s;) ;) s;)

Any advise also welcome  s:) :) s:)

RE: your original headlights. Have you tried machine polishing them ( even if you don't want to keep them you can then sell them ). My lights used to be yellowy but a machine polish sorted that out.

Nathan, I've done it on mine using Russ' diagram and a couple of tweaks. They work a treat.

If I was closer I'd give you a hand upgrading

I sure have Steph. Its the inside that has discoloured.

They can be opened up and cleaned from the inside but i couldnt be arsed with all that. I quite fancied the projectors anyway and i love to give myself a headache trying to fit something new   s:roll:  s:roll:

My only concern is looking at Russ's post he had some issue with his dash after doing this and it doesnt appear to confirm if it was ever linked to his wiring or not   s:? :? s:?

I checked that with Russ. He confirmed that his lights have been ok and not related with his issue.

*Andy* suggested a few bits to add to the diagram to make it totally plug and play. If you want (and you're not in too much of a rush) I could probably knock some wiring up for you like I did for mine and send them down?

Think i keep missing your posts mate  s:lol:  s:lol:

I wont have time to fit them for a few weeks atleast. Ive got all the bulbs, holders and plugs included.

I just need the relays and to get my brain around the diagram.

If you fancy knocking something up then your more than welcome. Wouldnt you need all the plugs?

I went with Russ' diagram as it makes it plug and play.
Didn't fancy splicing into existing wiring as it's always reversible then and easier to repair should I ever break it!!  s:lol:  s:lol:

I just need to pick up a couple of bits to make them. I'll have a look at it this next week or so if you want?

What would it be you need to get?

I'll grab some relays from near here and order some plugs for the bulbs (just got spade connectors on mine at the moment which I will get around to changing...eventually!! But they work great at the mo!)

Quick question - When the Main beam is operated on the facelift lights, should the dipped remain on or switch off? Any actual facelift owners care to nip out to their car for me?  s:D :D s:D

I'm pretty sure they operate how ours work with uktotty's diagram, when main beam is on then dipped are also on.

pre facelift one goes off one goes on, facelift both come on together

Mine don't (I changed a pin around)... The dipped goes off as main comes on. That's why I wondered what standard operation was. Not sure that it bothers me though! I'll just swap the pin when I've next got access to it!!
