Ive recently purchased a 2002 Toyota MR2, Twice in the last 4 nights Ive woken up to the sound of my Alarm going off, When I look out of the window there doesnt seem to be any reason why its happened.

After a little thought i think what might be happening is.... I live opposite a very busy industrial estate and have to park my car on the road, During the night HUGE lorries drive by house, Often it feels like the house shakes! I think the vibrations from the lorries driving by activates my alarm.

Is there any way I can turn the sensitivy of my alarm down? If so can anybody advise on how I could do it myself?

Thank you!

there is an adjustment screw for the sensitivity but what II did was bent the bracket up under the frunk as mine went off every time the sun shone and the car got hot.
Try that first, and then use the search function for alarm adjustment

I had the same sort of problem with my car when I first got it. I followed the guides and found the sensor behind the drivers seat and adjusted the sensor. Actually I didnt adjust it at all, I just wound it up and down a few times, and then left it where it was already set. My thinking was the previous owner who had a the car dealer serviced, for several small issues, would have had the alarm sorted if it was a problem. My guess it was just a bit of dirt/damp in the adjuster because I have no problems since.
The alarm is working as I can set it off, putting shopping on the passenger seat when the roof is open and the alarm set.
