Its a fault. Back to the dealer. They know about it. They will give you one of the the usual two answers 1) its the power steering pipes are not long enough and need to be changed and 2) the top suspension mounts need to be changed. Either one might be right (mine was the suspension) and they should do it under warranty. Worth it cos mine makes no noise at all..........

If it is the creaking, I suspect the suspension, but they will tell you......

Yep, John is correct!

Mine was the suspension mounts, and they were changed without quibble under warranty.. no more squeak/clonk/creak/clunk on full lock!

Unfortunately the new glovebox they put on (with a different key.. grrr!) is more rattly than the original one!!

Same here, suspension top mounts.  My dealer said that they reckoned the Toyota recommended power steering pipe fix was bollocks so they just did the top mounts on mine and it fixed the problem a treat.

i wasnt sure at first if it was a fault because its only a creaking noise as against a rattling noise, but after ur replys i will try and get it sorted straight away.

Mine does that too... sounds more like cogs to me... but next time I'm in, I'll ask them to take a look.
