Hey all,

OK - so I got some of the Plasma Glow Dials from Visual Performance. I've read the fitting instructions on here  (there was a Group Buy going on a while back). It says to use the bulb to secure the wires, however after many, many hours I could not get it so I used the bulb holder to screw in and hold the wires against the contact plates on the PCB. However, after trying it with the wires both ways round I am still not getting any glow. So, should this work this way? If so, I guess I will give a couple more tries then post the dials back for a replacement - unless anyone can figure out a way to test them?

I'll try to post a picture or two around how I have wired it in tomorrow when I have some daylight again.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Tim.

I cant remeber if i put a thread up about this but i had massive problems with mine and finally got it sorted after a week.

First thing i realised was that many of the solders had come loose on the dials before i even fitted them so check that!! after days if messing and test fitting i found solders kept failing. Before you wire it up with the bulbs, put the live and earth on your car battery to check the dials work and solders are ok! then if you find it does light up, the wires have to be the right way round on the bulb!

Try both these first and then let me know! oh and dont take you needles off, i did thinking it would be easier and it was a massive mistake!

You will have to take at least the temp needle off to get them on (this can be popped back on once the cars up to temp in the central position) but i really wouldnt advise taking any of the others off as ul never get them in the right place again!

Hi Tim, If it all goes t*ts up, Ive got some spare pods. £30 incl pnp. You may get a different mileage reading though, so be aware.

Does it not read the mileage from the ECU?

Nope mileage is stored on the cluster, a bit of a faux-pas from Toyota I think

More of a reason to get history with the vehicle then. I just assumed being digital it would be stored in the ECU   s:shock:  s:shock:
