Ok so I've noticed a few times now, that when I unlock my car, I open the passenger door to put my handbag on the seat and I can hear a really faint, rapid beeping, like an alarm. Wtf is this? I have heard it upon opening the drivers door too a couple of times. Also I have heard if after turning off the engine and taking the key out and then sitting with the door open for a few seconds. Weird! Any ideas?

IIRC you get a beep if the lights are turned on. I may be wrong on that 'cause I sold mine a while ago.

I don't think that's what the OP is getting - I have noticed mine does it too occasionally. Sounds like it's coming from the alarm itself in the frunk, Very faint, rapid beep. I notice it most when I have to disconnect the battery (or re-connect - can't remember which)

Mine has done it for three years and never seems to have come to any sort of failure in that time so I don't worry about it any more.

Mine does this sometimes when the door is open more than a few seconds. (No lights on, key out of ignition) I thought it was normal!

I think it is the alarm letting you know something (door, bonnet, engine lid) isnt shut so alarm won't arm.

If you open and close the passenger door on mine after unlocking and not the drivers, mine will re-lock the car after 30(ish) seconds! I have a funny idea the alarm circuit is only on the drivers door?

It's not the alarm telling you that the alarm went off while you were away is it?

My aftermarket alarm does that.

Here's a post I found, aptly named 'What's that beep beep beep'.

Yeah its the faint rapid beeping from the frunk. I have noticed it after unlocking and opening the passenger door, and it stops after about 8 seconds. Also today after driving to work, I stopped, took key out ignition, opened door and if did it. It stopped when I shut the door. Probably the alarm telling me it cant be armed then. Just weird! Thanks for the replies.
