Electric aerial bypass

Hi all,

Is there anywhere easy to access where i can cut the wire that powers the electric aerial motor?

Its started grinding and refusing to go down without persuasion, which would be fine if it didnt come up every time i fire the car up.

So i figure on my limited budget, since the reception seems pretty much perfect before it reaches its full height that if i just cut the wire that powers the motor it will stop the annoying grinding.

Where is this wire most easily accessed? I dont really want to have to take the inner wheel arch off because they never seem to go back on without 3 hours of swearing and bleeding.

Is there a fuse you can pull out just for the aerial? Do you have the standard stereo as you can turn the aerial off from that?

Nah ive got a aftermarket Sony unit in.

If there is a fuse that would be handy, but in my experience rarely is a fuse used for a single function.

If there is a fuse for it, it probably also powers about 3 other things like a cigarette lighter or a clock.

 s:D s:D  I disconected mine by unpluging the aerial relay under the drivers side bin

does mean taking off the bin door and removing bin but at least you can simply reconnect should you need to   s:D s:D

I tried that but the bin refused to come out.
