Hey everyone,

My 'lock' on the keyfob doesn't work so I am having to manually lock the car at the mo. As the 'unlock' button works, I have figured that it is something to do with the circuit as the key has been dropped several times.

Does anyone know any key fob repair guys around the London or just on the outskirts of London area?

I found 1 on ebay but he's all the way up Merseyside which is a 3.5hrs drive from me and I am hoping to get this sorted out by the weekend.

Thanks for your help in advance.

firstly replace the battery £1 on ebay
If the switch connection has gone it could be a simple solder job, do you have a mate whos handy with a soldering iron?

I've resoldered both buttons on mine several times. It's an arse of a job if your aren't skilled and don't have a fine tipped iron. But it is still possible!

tried replacing the battery already as I initially thought that this could solve the problem but no luck.

So definitely the circuit.

Any instructions/tips on how to solder and where?

Thanks again.

The button will possibly have fell off completely or will ha e just cracked the solder joint on one side.

The buttons are silver squares with silver circular bits on them, same position as the buttons on the casing.

They are soldered at the edges by the corners.

To separate the key, remove the screw, slide casing apart. Then you need to peel the soft button side out of the hard side, use a blunt knife or screwdriver to separate the two parts.
