I think the best way to look at this is as follows

Budget = 200

A HU @ 80 will leave you with 120 for;

Front speaker upgrade
6 x 9's
Sub & Amp

Thats a very optimistic budget... however not impossible to achieve what your after... bare in mind though car audio is very much a case of, you get what you pay for.

What size subwoofer are you after?
Do you want to amp your fronts or just the 6x9s & sub?
Are you looking for a custom boot build or one of Nathans under dash subwoofers?

sorry £200 just for speaker and amp. head unit allready taken care off. im a right noob when it comes to stuff like this, i dont know wat size sub, i just wanted to find something that actually would fit in the rear storrage bin! or try my hand a build, under dash subs are pricey arent they.

I've got a 400W (max 200W per channel) legacy audio amp velcroed behind the passenger seat (allows me to still use the storage bins and the amp stays cool) and 2 300W Max 6 x9 components in the storage bins (these ones) all powered by a Sony cdx-gt616U

This system has been with me for the last 5 cars, so I couldn't tell you how much it would cost you now, but excluding the head unit I think it cost me about £120 6 years ago

Sounds fine, not as bassy as I'd like but I did have a Fli 12" 1000w sub in my old Celica, so It'll never be as bassy as that.

Just bought a pair of these for my brothers car, if they're any good I'll get a pair for the MR2.

Ide imagen you cant get bigger than a 8" subs in the rear storage bins.

Also its not the size of the sub that really matters, its down to the size of the box, being ported or un ported etc

I had 12" subs and i thought they sounded alright, but then i changed my set up and went down to 10" subs and added components and it sounded much more clear with more bass.

As said above, you get what you pay for. Aslong as you have a good headunit then your all set to start, crap headunit = crap results

I doubt thats usefull at all is it LOL

£200 budget best bang for buck..

JBL 4ch AMP in rear bin - £80
One of Nathans UD sub boxes - £80
Cheapy ebay 6.5" Sub - £20 (that will have to do until you get more money for the JL sub which is £110)
Mid range 6.5" components for door (Halfords Edge - £40)
B&Q/Wickes Flashing tape for doors - £15

Total cost - £235 - pretty close
And that gets you a full setup that will give more bass than any 8" rear mounted sub and clear sounds at highish volumes.

Assumptions
* Op smart enough to do self install
* Basic DIY skills to make MDF speaker baffles or add £10 for cheap ebay plastic ones

Later down the line when you have more cash swap out the sub for the JL one and then upgrade the components to Focals/Rainbows (£100/£150)
oh and anyone who recommends 6" x 9"s should be shot.
2003 Silver MR2 - Very Very Standard + Leccy Renault Zoe aka the battery mobile.
Ex Blue 04 MR2 - TTE Turbo\'d ~185bhp/200lbs/ft, Sports Clutch, Breast Plate, Lowered & half decent audio
Ex Silver 05 MR2 -  SP turbo conversion 227bhp, 205lbs/ft, with  cobra dual exit exhaust.

Yep it fits just. But basically requires the whole bin space for a box. It is a shallow sub tho.
