Iv basically got co-axils in the rear bin doors which im happy with because as far as i know they are a jap extra and want to keep them.

Iv had a couple of amps lying around (which i dont even know if they work) and wiring, and i purchased some front speakers and tweeters a while back which i want to fit. So ill make a list and photos of what i have and hopefully someone can tell me if this setup is do-able and if im missing anything.

Headunit = JVC KW-AVX810 (been a great headunit that is touch screen and is 4x50w 2 preouts)

Front Speakers = Hertz HSK165 250watt ( never fitted them but have seperate tweeters and crossovers)

Sub = Ripspeed active sub that will fit in the rear bin ( for what it is there is alot of bass!)

Amps = 1 x unknown make but says mosfet 2 channel amp 4oo watts   1 x kenwood KAC-626 2 channel @ 50w or 1 channel  150w

and loads of wiring haha

Hi Matt,

So what your after is;

HU running amped front and rear speakers as well as your active sub woofer? Is the active sub connected via preouts or via the speaker connections that come on them?

If you only have 2 preouts on HU i think you could only run 2 amps... although i could be wrong and you could piggy back an amp with a set of RCA leads, not sure if this would work or not.

Hook the front speakers up with the components and tweeters, they'll work ok. I'm running diff 6.5" speakers through my components and no issues.

Ideally, 1 4ch amp for the speakers and 1 active sub... although if you dont want to spend any money you "could" amp up the 4 speakers or a 2 ch amp, but wouldn't sound very good...

Was thinking of running one sub from one preout then running a amp from the other preout and amping just the front speakers, the rear co-axisl are only small watts so not going to get base from them bit ill have a sub in the rear and front speakers with bass and tweeters for all round feeling

but thats me guessing.   s:lol: :lol: s:lol:

what i really need id someone to tell me if my amps are ok for the front speakers etc?? i dont really understand matching watts and all that with audio

Use the Unknown amp as the kenwood so small in power that your headunit produces more power. The unknown amp should have the power but how it sounds only testing will tell.

MAy sound daft but is there anyway of testing the amp to see if it works first? for example if i connect it to the preouts and use a circuit testert or something, dont want to wire it all up to find its broke. A friend gave it me and said it does, that was about 18months ago. Just want to use it if i can. its a 2 channel 400w so im guessing if i put that to two speakers its 200watts each. (see my maths there!!   s:wink: :wink: s:wink:  )  andf with the hertz being 250 watts i should be ok?

Iv done alot on my car myself but wiring and audio im a novice and abit scared of it because im not confident

Basically your looking at keeping the amp power lower than the speaker but you can adjust the output so its less power IE volume control. As for wiring your going to want to run the amp power wires anyway so do that. Then just get a speaker wire it up but without putting the cable through the car to test. If that makes sense.
