There is what looks to be a very good six part series on 'basic testing to trace problems on modern electronically managed engines' starting with the Sept edition of Car Mechanics magazine.

Usually, these things are a bit old hat but this one will go from  using a modern multimeter to oscilloscope.

Part one covered 'the pulse' and the significance of the CPSs' and  fuel delivery, pumps, regulators, injectors etc.
Particularly useful are the 'what goes wrong?', and 'how do you test it?'  notes.

I have a subscription so will be filing all the info. but at £4 an issue at the stand, 24 quid for a 'manual' may be a bit steep!

Good stuff if you're into it though.

One of the issues on the forum is almost certainly a CPS on the way out and it won't throw a cel, for example.

(I don't, and never have, worket for the magazine   s:lol:  s:lol:  )
