David, the nice chap who gave us the style bars has designed a centre console, which he calls "the tube console".
He has requested I post for you all to see, normal price will be 300 euros but he feels sure price can be reduced if sufficient people are interested, especically if they are sent to a single address. He requiures a minimum of three orders to start production.

Your thoughts/ideas are welcomed.
I'm sure David will answer any queries you may have.

All you need to do is to shove "in my opinion" at the end and you can't offend anyone mate! (unless you're particularly wanting to).

And for what it's worth, in my opinion, it looks worse than crap!

1) It's a prototype. That's why it's not for sale : because it's not finished.

2) It's better in real.

3) I don't like it myself, I prefer the new leather console he's working on now. (but i must say it's always better that what we have stock).

I'm with Kris. And to be honest, ANYTHING that is hand made that goes into the cabin is never going to look right unless professionally done. It just looks like its been tacked on and really, really unpleasant.

Just leave things alone!!!!!  s:roll:  s:roll:    s:wink:  s:wink:    s:lol:  s:lol:

HOLD On guy's it has pertentail for a huge ICE improvement here.

If he could make those 3 holey things into a flush mouted 6.5" screen and then have a single din above that then on the side pods! the black things hiding all the wires, these will be perfect for another set of 6.5" comps or 2 * 6.5" subs!!!!

it would fit as the h/u is at more of an angle that standard.

dont be so harsh to judge   s:lol:  s:lol:    s:lol:  s:lol:

it has lots of potentail   s:lol:  s:lol:   for the ICE that is

I think it would probably look better in the flesh and in a non prototype version.

Also if the pipes went up a bit further past the side of the controls but i guess that isn't possible (with any ease)

i think it just stands out too much, it needs to be 'blended in' somehow with other bits on the dashboard ect matching...

Hey, I think it's a great idea to have twin exhausts out the front. Also helps warm the car up faster on those winter mornings.  s:lol:  s:lol:

Well, yeah. I suppose so.  s:? :? s:?   Moving the engine to the front is a bit of a bugger though.  s:lol:  s:lol:  And you'd keep burning your elbows.

I don't have anything against the look.

However the black fibreglass surround looks very much like that used with the style bars, which is fine provided you are VERY careful when fitting because it isn't the strongest of materials.

I don't know how it would stand up to day to day use, being beside you rather than behind.

Still not convinced. It different material to the rest of the dash, it STILL looks handmade (although I will admit the quality is pretty damn good) and I have a picture in my head of what the REAL 2 cockpit looks like and nothing compares to it cos none of us are real car interior designers. Its a good effort, but I just can't handle interior modifications really. Sorry..............

Hello, here is david. First, your "kind" comments were a big surprise for me; but it's a fact, your taste is often totaly different than US MR2 owners: different country, different culture...., and I have to say that originaly, I imagined this very flashing console for them and their special taste; of course everybody is free to appreciate or hate my product, it's a way of improvment for me.
But perhaps some of you don't know or don't remember that the first console I have developped is totaly different: I had tried to improve our inside car witch is sad and cheap (and for me, ugly), with a console more smart witch fitted more with the rest of the car.
For the consoles, I use only noble materials (leather, stainless steel, chrome, aluminium, fibreglass or real carbon..) and certified subcontractors ( my job is to design and developp jet pilot helmut and other devices..).
So I appreciate this yellow console, because it's very difficult to obtain soft shapes without molds, and also for the great   leather work: it's the first time I see a serious work for the inside car.
For those who don't know, here is my first console:

I'll send you asap photos of the definitive version of this  console with the most reduced price(350euros).
