I mean exhausts that connect to the manifold and only have a muffler after it. Are there any other choices than Top Secret? Apparently Ricoh Racing doesn't exist anymore  s:? :? s:?

Here's a pic of the Top Secret one:

Not really, though Japanparts pictures it with the turbokit. It mates with the stock manifold. Just like their turbokit mates with the stock catpipe.

Could be...any idea for a fair price for the stock cat-pipe? That should make a good starting point..

Tem,

You might want to try and contact Japanparts.com.  Even though they didn't list Ricoh Racing's exhaust, I was still able to get it through them.  The downside was I ended up waiting about 2-3 months after I paid to get it.

Zees also make one in Japan if you can get hold of them.  Amuse have a complete straight though system available as well which I have on one of my cars.

Markiii, had a straight pipe made out of the CAT  by H&S and it cost about £50 Which I now have on my 2ZZ!

Perry190 has also done this!

Oh...I guess I'll mail Graham then. Remember how much it was?

No idea about Zees and can't seem to find anything with Google. Any links?

Got pics of that Amuse system? I thought they only had a catless pipe between the manifold/muffler.

its a case of finding an oem cat section from scrappy and seeing what they want for it? I paid £80, not cheap but worth it to be able to put my existing one back on come MOT time

Already have a WTB here  s;) ;) s;)

There are no 2's on local breakers...I wonder if the start from any other car would fit..?

Definitely no room for both. I was thinking of cutting the pipe before the cat and welding some light muffler in there. So I'd just use the connector to the muffler and the flex part from the pipe anyway.

Nice idea about using the cat though, never thought of that. I guess I could just route the output of that straight out...that would even be legal  s:idea:  s:idea:

Tem, I sold Perry his CAT and have another for the same price if you're interested?  Shipping shouldn't be too much from the UK.

I'll get some photos of the amuse hosted!

It may well be as cheap to get one locally custom made as to ship one in.

The price I paid for mine to be custom built to spec in stainless was comparable to the TTE exhaust, and that included making the wastegate collection & flange to mate directly to the turbo.

It would be cheaper...local racing shop can do a manifold AND full exhaust for 300 euros...bloody good place, but they are booked full to the end of September  s:? :? s:?

Same with most local places now that the racing season has begun...

I don't remember exactly (the quote was in yen and the exchange rate has changed since then) but it's around $400 + shipping from Japan.  There are a couple variations, single or dual, mild steel or stainless.  The construction is outstanding!  I could only dream of any local exhaust shop being able to put together something with that quality.  While it's perfect for any turbo application, it's definitely not necessary.  I sold my Ricoh exhaust to "SpoiledBoi" who's NA and loves it.

If you haven't allready heard many Spyder's here in the US (me included) are running headers and straight pipe from a company in Arizona called PPE Engineering.  I'm not affiliated, I just think they have a good product.

Jap GT300: Did you say you have a stock cat for sale?  I live in California and need to get my SMOG certification soon.  Any idea what shipping to the US is like?

Yeah, I know PPE. I don't like it cause it doesn't mate with the stock manifold-pipe -seam.

I bought a used cat for $80 (USD) and plan to have someone weld in a straight pipe in place of the cat.

Not sure what your intentions are (turbo/NA) but I was suggesting a new exhaust manifold (header) and straight pipe.  It puts 11 hp to the wheels.  If you were looking to save money I would go with Beanie's sugestion.

Quote from: "Drifter"Not sure what your intentions are (turbo/NA)

That's the problem, I'm not sure either...that's one of the reasons I'm not getting a header at least for now. But an exhaust that bolts to stock manifold will also bolt to possible future NA header of turbokit...

i thought the PPE header with high flow cat and PPe header with downpipe is a direct bolt on? thats what the PPE salesman told me.

It is.

But the header itself doesn't bolt to the stock cat/downpipe. You need the PPE cat/downpipe, which do bolt to the stock muffler.
