Cv joint

Hi, I posted before about a knock when pulling off. It seems to only happen on low revs or hill starts. I'm an ex mechanic and I work with a few, all are stumped to what it is. I've had a look at mounts ect, only thig I can see is the N/S drive shaft has about 1/4 play in it. I'm pretty sure drive shafts are ment to have no play.
